Musicians eventually
find Sufism and disappear into its non-sound
They change their names, have constant issues with
the hair on their head, or hats
& Have the most sexy groupies
Painting has no such
thing.
Jazzmen are nerds, as least the white ones
bluesmen are either drunks or posers
the symphony is made of doctors and lawyers, all rich & distant
much country is made by real redneck assholes. (and much policy).
Pop Art is just marketing (making it ass-essible to the mass-whole, if I may)
Oh, and eliminating everything else.
Is this an image?
2.
There are three kinds of painting
There is Bad Painting, which covers 90% the world’s surface, stuff
Which nears barely one of the gifts of
Will, Ability, and Fear
Few points for recovery here. If one is earnest enough
Nowadays has no excuse.
There is Picture Painting,
which shows Ability and sometimes Will.
It never nears its Fear.
It can be beautiful to decorate your home with these colors
to watch “TV” or play Wii near.
They is a lot of easy money out there
For these just-pictures.
Real Painting is fine above a hearth, but not always.
It is so full it might split open and gush out onto the floor
It is so silent it might be sneaking in an alley
Then your ears close and full with it surrounding
It protects the house when you are away
It talks to the cats at night.
3.
Curators believe that you can get here from there.
In the end we are looking at pictures, any one equals another, they say, but
If you are equally ignorant of more than one thing
It does NOT make those things equal.
What good would it do us to talk like that?
4.
Music can be defined in degrees of language
Listings of genre and instrument
A musician brings a guitar or violin or just voice
A writer borrows a pen from the waitress and writes on cocktail napkins
The painter brings a brush and a canvas
but No sound comes out without
Ah, his instrument is
an entire space and a long time
Things are heavier than sounds
And songs are short.
A room of stuff and many years
is hard to travel with.
