last poem of 2008.

On Waiting

Another word for words, until
Silent, absent, slow
This hesitance. Gliding zombies adjust to
Infernal Patience of Policlinico, the city hospital.
Waiting for death and life on any holiday.

For all my baby knows, it’s the end of the world.
It’s time’s greatest crime
this unknown unit of duration that
no longer unfolds,
or just no longer is

To release his mother from this and his sister from this
all fear & all alone on Christmas day
from this doubt
many much hugs towards it
every gesture flavored by it

that giving close to death, my screaming fevered girls.
